Kinda re-discovered Mazzy Star last year, extremely good! Lots of melancholic nostalgia.
I remember my mom listening to it a lot when I was a kid in the mids 90s, it was a hard time for her as she had just separated with my dad. Being a single mom, with me at around 5 years of age and my little sister at 3 years old she had found several female musicians with powerful music that helped her get through life at that point. These aren't specifically musically related to Mazzy Star but they are closely related in my heart, and all highly recommend, some of my earliest memories:
I'm an adult on long-term sick leave so I have zero energy and money, but all the time. It's generally not great, but at least I'm able to play all the games I want, watch all the movies and series of interest, discover music and learn about a ton of things.
I'm not really the target audience and I've come across it what must be hundreds of times. It has been talked about a lot on anything gaming. Most of the big gaming journalism (good and bad) websites, youtube channels etc have made articles and videos about it.
No one is playing it because it's very "meh", but it has absolutely been widely advertised and also talked about a lot (for being not so good).
I really doubt any of you who replied here saying you haven't heard about it ever interact with gaming journalism and community. It has been just as visible as most other AAA games.
It's hard to believe you didn't write this comment as some sort of shitty troll attempt. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Among us peaked years after It's release and stayed super popular for a long time.
It's like you've used each thing once in some specific game where it was badly implemented and decided that's how it looks in all games.
There is no objective "it looks like this", every game does things slightly or very differently. I'm certain you are unusually blind to detail, have serious vision problems, or you're just very good at convincing yourself of your own bad ideas.
I'm always sad to see so much dislike for this game, I absolutely love it and will continue to come back to it. Most of the things people mention are failures on their part to understand what the game is and how basic things, both in the real world and in game design, work.
You vastly underestimate the idiocy and childishness of Americans. I've seen people comment things like "use English, this is a US website", "go to another site for your own country if you want to use anything other than English", etc. even though the posts were in communities/subs specific for the language the post was in.
This has always been a thing online.
Many Americans are so dumb they think they are the vast majority on any website, and everything should be via their rules and ways. And there are several other things that seemingly only Americans are dumb enough to do and/or to not understand, things like timezones (even though they have several within their country), that the vast majority of the world uses Metric, that not every country has the same products or services, that their subjective experience of anything is in fact subjective, etc. I could go on for several more paragraphs with things like this.
Intent-based UI is a design philosophy that aims to bridge the gap between user expectations and system capabilities. It involves designing interfaces that can understand and predict user intentions, enabling the system to respond proactively and provide relevant information or actions. This approach not only enhances user satisfaction but also fosters a more efficient and productive interaction with the system.
You're so invested in this, it's absolutely hilarious. People are writing good comments and all you do is say "fuck you, I have no more info than you but I've decided on something and will act like a 12 year old about it".
It would actually be good if the case is that you're just a 12 year old, otherwise it's just fucking sad and pathetic.
