It was a long running project, but I finally did it. I built what I'm calling a smart mailbox that communicates the presence of mail locally with Home Assistant via ESPHome....

Just got this email from Haier (US) who seems to be distancing themselves from the EU division's decision to block Home Assistance....

This is surely common knowledge for some of you but I thought I'd share a story, as this just made me cringe...

I've had a laptop that I've never been able to get WoL (Wireless or otherwise) to work, no matter what I tried. Recently realized that the Bluetooth keyboard I used was able to wake it with a key press though....
I thought I had a backup. I use the Gdrive add-on and it should have had a backup....
I've got a weather station outside and I use this add on to bring it into HA. We only had 79.8% coverage during the eclipse, but there was a noticeable drop in temperature!
Since my air fryer notification I've bought 2 more Esp32 Dev boards from The Greal Mall of China- AliExpress. A couple days later I'd read about MMwave sensors and purchased a couple of those too....
